The fishing trip was a great experience for our son, Frank. Both Jose and Thomas worked themselves silly to make the trip an event. I am sure the larger boat would have taken the rough water on the windward side of island better but the Frigate performed very well. Frank caught 6 barracuda and 1 King Machrel. The largest barracuda measured over 54 inches and fought for over 20 minutes. We had never eaten barracuda before, but Jose made a fantastic ceviche and fish tacos. They also fileted 2 more fish for us to eat later. Casa del Mar prepared the fish for 9 people and everyone enjoyed it. When we come back we will request Jose and Thomas again. We shot alot of pictures but we are working on our transferring skills and will forward pictures of the fish for your website as soon as possible.

Having limited time from the cruise ship we booked a half day with Albatros Charters. I am a licensed charter captain and was somewhat unsure of what to expect as this is not supposed to be the prime fishing season there. Let me assure you the entire trip was just incredible. The captain and mate were tops and the boat, equipment and tackle were all first class. We had plenty of action including a big Wahoo which made the day. I certainly will book with them again.

I am writing to thank Capt. Pedro, and Julian for a wonderful trip during our stopover in Cozumel. We started out catching 4 mahi's as soon as we put our lines out. One of them took me over 20 minutes to bring in and was estimated by Pedro to be 60 to 70 pounds. Things slowed after that and we tried bottom fishing and brought in a grouper, 2 snappers and a wahoo. Pedro filleted the wahoo and cut it up into very small pieces and made us some wraps with the raw fish and assorted veggies and spices. We had some trepidation about eating raw fish but after trying it, we ate almost all of it. He told us the name of it but I do not recall.

i've been very busy since returning from cozumel, but wanted to tell you that my daughter and i had a great time. Capt Pedro was a wonderful host and fish hunter as well as cook. The servichee (however you spell it ) was delish. my little six year old let me have the chair once only while she was helping the deckhand (jose') cook quesadilla's. the crew didn't want to surrender her at the end of our trip. capt Pedro invited us back for some billfish---ing.

anyway ; Isabella (6 yr old) landed amberjack, several snapper, 5-6 barracuda, and one something very big she had on for just a moment. we had fun.

I am writing to commend the efforts of the captain and crew on our March 15th charter. Hope I have the names correct, Pedro, Jose, and Julian. They exhibited total dedication to doing everything possible to putting us onto fish. We cannot thank them enough and would charter them again when in Cozumel. On any fishing trip the main thing that matters is the effort put forth and not the number of fish landed. While we did catch fish, the thing I was most impressed with was the total effort put forth from the beginning to the end of the trip.

I just wanted to say thank you to Pedro and his staff for their sincere and hard effort last Friday. The water was pretty rough and my father-in-law got quite sea sick, but he recovered quickly. Also tell Pedro we really did understand, that fishing is fishing, and we know it was not his fault we did not catch more fish. They felt very bad.
May be it will be better next time.

First of all, thanks for meeting us at the pier. I thought that was a really nice touch. Pedro and Julian were awesome. They worked hard to put us and keep us on fish...there must not be a Spanish word for lazy. They constantly checked and changed baits. We did not catch the big one that I had hoped for but I have fished long enough to know that's just fishing. The guys were great not just to me and my brother but also to my son and nephew. They were the epitomy of the word accommodating! We caught roughly 40 fish-mostly blackfin tuna and barracuda, but also some rainbow fish and a small wahoo. We hung a big fish-cubera snapper in 200 ft. of water, but unfortunately, he wordked himself off the hooks. You have a great crew with you. Tell them again how much we enjoyed our trip and we will certainly book with you again when in Cozumel - hopefully in May or June.

I just wanted to email to thank the Captain & mate of the Albatros for an excellent fishing trip on July 26th. My sister and I caught 11 fish. We reeled in 7 Barracuda, 2 Tuna, 1 nice Sailfish (My First!), and one very large Wahoo. I have enclosed pictures of the Sailfish and Wahoo. It was really great since this was my sister’s first time deep sea fishing. The day was very enjoyable, as well as was the fresh Tuna quesadillas and Barracuda ceviche. You can’t get any fresher than that! I am looking forward the next time I get down to the island. The Albatros and crew will definitely be in my plans. Thanks again, Gilbert Wiatrek

As a follow up, Cori and I had a great time on our charter. We managed to land a 45 inch Barracuda, had a bill strike (as was evident from the big slash in the side of one of the Ballyhoo) and for a minute or so had a BIG marlin on. It nearly spooled the 700 yards of line on the Penn International in a single run after the hookup, jumped once while the skipper was backing down (the fish was taking line too fast for us to turn the boat and give chase)Unfortunately the battle was over nearly as fast as it had begun. We managed to get the fish stopped before loosing the little line I had left on the reel but shortly after stopping the run the line went slack. I thought it had thrown the hook but while reeling in the line we discovered it had either broken or had been severed, possibly by another excited fish....I think the latter since the line was cut very cleanly, not at all stretched or ragged....either way, it was fun while it lasted!
Both the skipper and crew were a pleasure, their English was pretty good and they shared several fish stories. By the way they worked the lines and trolled the area, it was obvious to me they new what they were doing. I would fish with them again anytime. Good guys, cold beer, and some action! Hello from Texas! Just had to tell you again what a wonderful time we had fishing with your company. Capt. Pedro, Antonio and Julian were a great crew. Very good fishermen and professional. The boat, tackle and everything was first class. We caught sailfish (95 lbs.) Mahi mahi (55 lbs.) barracuda (30 lbs.) and a host of other fish. It was a trip of a lifetime. Hi You All I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know what a great time we had with your boat and crew. The crew is the best. We had two dorado within an hour, several barracuda, and to top off the day a sailfish. I included a pic which you may use on your web site if you want. I wanted to drop you a line to tell you of my great fishing trips, with Capt Pedro and his crew. I can not say what a great two day's I had sharing the water with them. I have had the luck of fishing may times with a lot of crews, and was blown away with Capt Pedro and his crew did for me. It's not often you get to see a crew that is so in touch with the waters they fish in. If we had not caught a fish the two days I was chartered it still would have been a great experience watching them work. We did however, catch fish and I am happy to report in two days we boated 25 tuna, 5 skipjack, 1 wahoo, 1 huge amberjack, and last but not least, I got to successfully catch and release a white marlin. The two days that I spent with the crew of the Albatross will be experiences I will share for years to come. My sincere thanks to you and Capt. Pedro and his crew.

Thanks for the trip. My fising buddy and I had a great time. We took a 3/4 day fishing trip on Cozumel from our Cruise Ship, Grandeur of the Seas, and had a great time. The boat was clean and appeared well maintained for its age, and there was no lack of bait and lures to use. The guys used everything in the box and kept rotating to find the right thing. What a blast. I had a great time, and so did my fishing buddy Wayne. The only thing better would have been to hook up on that marlin, but you can't have it all can you . . . OK, maybe next time I can! Thanks to Pedro, Antonio, and Miguel (I hope that was his name). Also, thanks to Rita for meeting us at the Hotel Pier, it was great to meet her. Had a great time with you on April 14th 2005! I caught my first Blue Marlin which was a childhood dream of mine, and it happened on the boat Miracle! It took me 7 charters to finally hook up, Cozumel is the right place. I also caught my biggest Bull Dorado and Barracuda both 50 lbs!!! When I caught the Dorado we had doubles both fish were jumping all over the place!!! I want to thank all of the crew Raul,Roberto and Manuel they were great! I will definitely be back and use you guys again! Until then tight lines!!!

The crew and the boat were awesome. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. The weather however was not good and the seas were rough. We cut the trip short from 6 hours to 4 hours with one fish caught. It happens. thanks again.

To All Who Enjoy Charter Fishing made easy,
My name is Dick Rabke, I work for the NY Daily News(Safety Director) and I enjoy salt water surf fishing and any time I can connect with a fishing charter group I'm comfortable with, I'll make the effort to ensure the trip happens. My entire family was enjoying a cruise on the Royal Caribbean "Explorer of the Seas" and I had been in touch with Rita and Burak from Albatros Charters a month before the Cozumel arrival on February 4, 2005, and had booked a half day of fishing for my son-in-law and I. I couldn't think of anything more convenient and simple then speaking with Rita about the booking, a fair price and where they would meet us once we arrived.
After settling the specifics over the phone which took 5 minutes, the next step was to get there. Literature was e-mailed to me which clearly illustrated how to get to their dock; a 10 minute walk and we on the charter boat and ready to go. Rita met us at the dock - just as we had arranged. We squared up and were on our way to do some Cozumel fishing.
The captain had us on fish within 15 minutes of setting up the outriggers. These guys knew their business. We picked up some good size barracuda while trolling. Rather then spend the whole time trolling, we asked the Captain if we could do some bottom fishing - he was more then receptive to do whatever we wanted and immediately pulled up and we set out for his favorite bottom fishing spot. I can only tell you (after a few drinks) a dozen red grouper, half a dozen trigger fish and half a dozen yellow fin jacks - the trip could not have been more satisfying. The captain shared in our excitement (you could feel it) and the mate was at our side throughout - I can't remember a trip where I never had to touch the hook or the bait once - the mate was there. Our only contact with a fish after hauling him in was to hold him for the camera.
I would recommend Albatros Charters to the sportmen who wants to put the exclamation point on their trip, be it a cruise or a visit to Cozumel. And to think, this was the slow season.

WE JUST WANTED TO SAY HI TO Y'ALL AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A GREAT DAY ON THE WATER. THE DAY STARTED WITH BEING REUNITED WITH PEDRO, WHO WE MET SEVERAL YEARS AGO WITH A DIFFERENT CHARTER. IT WAS VERY NICE THAT YOU MET US AT THE DOCK TO MAKE INTRODUCTIONS AND FAMILIARIZE US TO THE BOAT.
ON THE RIDE TO THE FISHING AREA , WE WERE TREATED TO A DELICIOUS ALMOND CAKE AND HAD A CHANCE TO REACQUAINT OURSELVES WITH PEDRO AND TO GET TO KNOW JOSE AND ANTONIO. ONCE WE GOT TO THE FISHING SPOT THESE GUYS SWUNG INTO ACTION AND NEVER STOPPED WORKING HARD TO INSURE THAT WE CAUGHT FISH. WE KNEW THAT THE SEASON WAS NOT RIGHT FOR SAILFISH BUT WE WERE NOT DISSAPPOINTED WITH OUR CATCH, SEVERAL BARRACUDAS, SNAPPERS AND THE BIGGEST, MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIGGER FISH WE'VE EVER SEEN. ONE OF THE ' CUDAS WAS THEN MADE INTO THE BEST CEVICHE THAT I'VE EVER EATTEN!
WE FELT THAT WE ARE TRULY BLESSED TO BE IN SUCH PARADISE WITH FRIENDS, BOTH OLD ONES AND NEW ONES. WE WILL GLADLY BE WALKING BILLBOARDS FOR ALBATROS CHARTERS HERE IN NEW ORLEANS AND AT THE LOCAL MARINAS. BEING AVID FISHERS, WE KNOW THAT YOU CAN'T ALWAYS COUNT ON CATCHING FISH; BUT OUR CREW PROVED THAT WRONG. IF ANYONE EVER COMPLAINS ABOUT THESE GUYS, DIRECT THEM TO A DOCTOR; WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE TREAT US SO WELL AND BE SO CONCERNED ABOUT OUR COMFORT AND WELL BEING SINCE OUR MAMAS! My father and husband used your charter service for their deep sea fishing excursion and could not have had a better time fishing. The crew was very hard working and friendly. I guess we were fortunate that day to catch a nice Mahi-Mahi and two very nice sailfish. We enjoyed the Mahi-Mahi which the crew prepared for us. I'll have to admit that after being out about 3 hours, I was starting to feel a little seasick. The food which the crew prepared actually helped me with this so I could enjoy the rest of the trip.

Just wanted to thank you guys for a wonderful day of fishing on the boat Miracle. We got 2 nice dolphin (dorado) in the box about 15 and 25 pounds. We had at least 4 sailfish in the spread of baits behind the boat. We hooked one but he spit the hookafter putting on a spectacular arial display for about 10 minutes. A fine day on the water. Captain Lazaro and his crew, Raul and Luis really seemed to know their stuff. Raul makes an amazing sandwich in addition to being able to smoothly gaff a fiesty bull dolphin. We are avid anglers and this day rivaled a nice day in our home waters of the florida keys. Very impressive guys.

I fullfilled a life long dream. I caught my first and only sailfish. It was about 7 feet long and weighed 90-100lbs. we got him in the boat, photographed him and released him. We also caught a Mahi-Mahi and a Dorado. Our crew was great. Pedro, Antonio and Antonio jr. did whatever it took to get us a sailfish hooked up.... I am very greatful for that.
Pedro made sure we had a very well stocked cooler on board complete with various refreshments and he even had fresh cantalope that Antonio served us. To top things off, Pedro made us some homemade quesadillas with his homemade hot sauce..... what a treat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip onboard the Albatros and will highly recommend your team to anyone interested in Blue water fishing. I have enclosed a picture of my fish, he is so big we couldn't fit him all the way in the frame.

Got back last night and couldn't wait to let you know what a wonderful time we had on your fishing charter. First, your crew Pedro, Antonio, and Felipe (?) were outstanding. They were knowledgeable, informative, helpful, and very busy. The boat was top notch and very clean. We caught at least 11 or 12 Mahi Mahi (I lost count after 7), a couple of tuna, and a 4' barracuda. Double headers, a triple header....man, we were busy!!! The beer was cold and the quesadillas were hot........they even filleted and fried some of our fish for us.....it just doesn't get fresher than that!! Fantastic! You and your crew helped make this a great time. We are now charter members of the Albatros Fan Club...the only thing missing was a chance to buy an Albatros Charter T-shirt......keep it up....See you next trip!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our full day fishing trip while in Cozumel. The fishing was great and even though the fish we caught weren't record breakers, they sure were fun to catch. At the end of the day we took part of our catch back to our B&B, where we, along with the other guests, enjoyed a tasty meal. Your crew and boat were nothing but top-notch. We just wanted to thank you and thank Pedro & Antonio for making our day in Cozumel. My husband had been watching the fishing reports prior to our arrival and we both had decided that we would just be happy to have the experience of deep sea fishing even if we didn't catch much. We spent approx. 4 hours fishing and had a great day, catching an unbelievable 90# sail fish (the highlight of our entire vacation), along with tuna, king fish, & mackerel. All the catches were beyond explanation to reel in.
I can't say enough in regards to Pedro & Antonio. Antonio went above and beyond to make us happy, bait our lines, offer us drinks, serve us fresh pineapple, and even make us quesadillas. The day was worth every penny and we couldn't wait to get back on the cruise ship and home to brag about our catch. Thanks again for a wonderful time!!

We had a great time!! We caught our first fish with in 20 minutes of leaving the dock. The second fish came about an hour later.
